Bio
Rod is a retired energy executive with diverse global oil, gas and LNG experience that includes many of Canada's largest energy projects and most complex policy and stakeholder issues. He is the Principal of Energy Interact Ltd., a strategic advisor to multiple new ventures and growth companies in the energy, cleantech and agriculture technology sectors, and is a board member on numerous non-profits. He provides expertise in the areas of energy projects, operations and new ventures, corporate affairs, stakeholder and policy matters, strategic planning, commercial agreements, and governance.
Rod’s extensive career with Chevron included leading business units, multi-billion-dollar projects and joint ventures, and corporate functions from coast to coast to coast in Canada and internationally. As the former Vice President for Policy, Government and Public Affairs with Chevron Canada Limited, he has an unrivaled history of establishing trusted partnerships with all levels of government, Indigenous, industry, and non-profit groups. He was the founding chair of multiple industry associations, including the Canadian LNG Alliance, and has held leadership roles on numerous executive policy and regulatory groups across Canada and internationally.
Rod graduated with distinction from the University of Alberta in Petroleum Engineering and is a registered professional engineer in Alberta and British Columbia.
He continues to enjoy playing beer league hockey, managing the family farm, golfing with family and friends, taking the odd road trip, and sharing great experiences with his family and granddaughters.
